November 2001

Tidbits and Questions Posted Wednesday, November 28, 2001, 12:48AM by Zogg
"First off, I just re-added Sproth's ""Take a Picture"" music video to the Fan Creations section. (It was one of the videos lost in the shuffle.)
Secondly, remember Fuitad, the guy who generously hosted us for almost a year? Well, he's back to the net and working on a new webcomic over of at FFGlory you should check out.
Thirdly, Tyler and I are currently exploring the idea of migrating to a newer version of the Sorenson video codec that would allow us to do smaller videos with higher quality. However, if we go through with it then everyone needs to upgrade to Quicktime5 in order to watch new videos. So, as such, we've setup a poll to see what people think so we have some basis for our decision. (Assuming the decision even becomes an option, but that's a different story.)
Anyway, go download the music video, read the comic strip, and then vote in the poll.

Hiho, Hiho, It's Off to Work We Go!" Posted Tuesday, November 27, 2001, 9:21PM by Zogg
"Once again we've reached the end of another month, meaning it's time for me to tally up the donations that keep this site going. If you look up at the debt-o-meter, you'll notice that it's set to $77.86, which is less than this month's actual bill! Thanks to all of you who donated last month to put us over the top, especially you regular donators out there. Well, another month has started: Let's do this thing.
Oh yeah, the latest financial report can be found here. Later.

A desperate plea Posted Tuesday, November 27, 2001, 12:42PM by TylerL
"I've received word that the Daemon Rising movie/episodes on YTV have an opening with Daemon narrarating.
The last two episodes of that mini-series air at 7pm tomorrow on YTV.
If you live in Canada, and have access to a video capture card or can tape the opening for us, Pepito will name a country in your honor.
E-mail me or Zogg if you can contribute.

Yeah Yeah... Posted Monday, November 26, 2001, 1:39AM by Zogg
"Now that Thanksgiving is over and I no longer have lots of free time (doh...) things can return to normal. (Well, maybe once Tyler's GameCube randomly explodes.) Anyway, the Toonami intro for Card Captors is now in its proper place in the new downloads. Rumor has it that King Elessar finished entering the Blue Sub 6 section for us, so that's been moved over as well. Kudos to KE once again! That's all for now, things keep moving.
Now then, to get to all that email I let pile up. hmmmm

Woo! Posted Friday, November 23, 2001, 12:39PM by Zogg
"Thanks to the extra hours put in by Pepito minion and message board regular King Elessar, the Big-O section has now been converted to the new database format. Hopefully other sections will continue to be moved soon enough. Big thanks to KE for his hard work!
In other news, the CCS Toonami Intro will be up soon enough. I'm on Thanksgiving break (mmm, pie) so I'm working slower than usual over a modem. Maybe I'll get to it tonight or tomorrow.
boom.
Update from Zogg today or tomorrow: Err... uhh... maybe when I get back.

"Tyler was, and still is, mesmerized by flashing lights (he calls it playing ""GameCube""), and completely forgot about ReBoot and Sailor Moon SuperS promos yesterday. I bet he'll be really angry with himself after he gets out of his trance in a few days.
Zogg's spending all his time in pitiful engineering classes and is traveling home to see his parental units instead of restoring the Cardcaptors section.
Sometimes I wonder why I even acknowledge their presence.
Anyway, I need some entertainment, and you people always seem to bring a smile to my port when I read the idiotic e-mails I get. It's getting close to Column Writing Time again. E-mail your poorly-written, misspelled questions about Toonami, Anime in general or my conquest of the universe to Pepito@ToonamiArsenal.com and I'll answer them in my column in a few weeks.
One final note: Other webmasters have now realized how futile their efforts of world domination are.
Saiyanz-Rage's Masenko is one of them. Take a look at Masenko's second news post from the top to see for yourself.
Update from Zogg 1 hour later: Pff, guilt me into it. Part of the Card Captors section is now up. The Toonami intro will come as soon as I get around to compressing it. (Which it is doing as I type.)

Born to update. Posted Thursday, November 15, 2001, 8:34PM by TylerL
"Ugh. It's been a slow everything week.
Anyway, Toonami Reactor opened up yesterday with just one episode of Star Blazers and the Daft Punk videos.
The grand majority of the other episodes will be available for streaming starting on Monday. Stay tuned. They're just getting started over there.
...and tomorrow afternoon, I'll be getting my GameCube, so don't expect any big updates from me until...um...some time in the future.
Update from Zogg 4 hours later: Don't expect updates from me, either, as I will attempting to ""acquire"" a vehicle to transport me north so I can steal Tyler's GameCube. (Actually, I just have lots of exams followed by Thanksgiving break away from my primary computer.)

It's fun for a girl and a boy Posted Tuesday, November 13, 2001, 1:53PM by Zogg
"Over in the Zoids section you can now find the shorter version of the Zoids promo. Nothing real special, but there for completeness none the less. Enjoy.
Oh yeah, if you've submitted a music video to me via my music video dump location: It's still there and I'm still ""getting around to it."" I'm hoping to get those reviewed and uploaded this weekend. We'll see.

Got broadband? Posted Monday, November 12, 2001, 5:28PM by TylerL

"The TMR: Special Edition Encore that was supposed to run last week Friday will be airing NEXT Friday (the 16th) during TMR.
If you missed it the first time, make sure you're glued to your TV this time.
Update from Tyler way too late at night.: I wasn't going to capture this clip at first, but I can't deny you people the pleasure of seeing a disco ball on the Absolution bridge. :)
I'm bored.

Another New Clip Friday Posted Friday, November 9, 2001, 5:06PM by TylerL
5th Episode ReBoot promo online.
More stuff later today.
Update from Tyler at 7:30pm: Sailor Moon Super S movie promo now online.

The shorter SMS movie promo is now online.
I'm tired.

This ends now Posted Wednesday, November 7, 2001, 9:56PM by Zogg
"Everyone remember the Sircam virus from a few months ago? (I know Tyler and I do, hundreds and hundreds of emails thanks to our emails being in everybody's IE cache.) Well, 2 of you out there haven't patched and have recently started sending stuff again. So... if your email address is listed below, then GO GET THE REMOVAL TOOL AND VIRUS SCANNER FROM THIS WEBSITE. Thank you, that is all. (Note to the regulars who were nice and aren't infected with Sircam: Please don't email these people. I don't want them to get flooded with even more messages, I just want them to stop emailing me.)
tim@polyu.hkc.net
usa@kaeam.co.kr

Update from Tyler 30 minutes later: ...at least we're not getting 30+ a day like before.
I have a nice little SirCam-infected file collection going. 89 and counting!

Suure...Hide the WRONG file and make ME take the blame! Posted Wednesday, November 7, 2001, 4:58PM by TylerL
Whoops. We had the ENDING to Zoids/ZERO online.
We now have the opening.
Disaster avoided.

Grr...fine. You guys win. Posted Wednesday, November 7, 2001, 2:29AM by TylerL
I'm getting tired of all the people reporting broken links in the Old Downloads section.
I thought we made it clear that any files missing from that section have been moved over to the New Downloads page already.
So...I deleted all the Old Download series pages that have been completely entered into our new database to keep people from bothering me.

I am the Webmaster of Doom. Do not anger me.

I just added the 0080 Toonami intro. Go download it. Or else.
Hmm...I changed my mind. Don't download it.
...Wait. Just download the last half.
...bah. I don't care.

What are you looking at? Posted Monday, November 5, 2001, 4:30PM by TylerL
"Today's one of those multiple new show days.
...and, of course, we'll get you the new openings within half an hour of their airing...or something.
...the weird thing is, we don't know what Zoids series is airing yet O_o
Toonami.com has screenshots from the first series, while the promos have clips from the second series (the one that was playing at 4:30 the last two weeks).
I'm willing to bet it's the second series, but y'never know...
Update from Tyler 10 minutes late: Yeah yeah... Shut up. The Toonami opening as well as the Dub opening are now online.
Update from Tyler with no self-imposed time limit later: I found the Zoids/ZERO intro Zogg hid somewhere. It's now in its respective place. Yay.
Update from Zogg (I don't care when): ""Hid"" means placed in the right location, just never made up a thumbnail or put into the database. Oops. You should be reading my mind!

Its like 700 of them came out of no where! Posted Sunday, November 4, 2001, 3:06PM by Zogg
"In prepartion for the big 0080 premier, I've posted up a little promo for it that game from a Playstation game. Big kudos to Jeremy Lavergne for getting this for us. You'll find it in the 0080 section.
In addition, by special request, there's an mp3 of the ending credits of episode 4 of Daemon's Rising. Enjoy.

If you wanna get a job done, do it yourself." Posted Friday, November 2, 2001, 2:42PM by TylerL
"Just added the 4th episode promo for ReBoot.
Holy crap. This episode will be INCREDIBLE.
...If you need further proof, take a look at the screenshot on the right.
Hex returns to her old self and helps to bring order to the system she tried to bring chaos to so many times. I said it before, and I'll say it again. YOU MUST WATCH TOONAMI TODAY!

...also, it seems like CN isn't playing the custom openings for ReBoot Season three, so I got the original intro online after all. Yay!
...and if the Zoids Toonami promo plays when i'm recording CN, I'll have that too.
Update from Tyler at 4:30pm: Zoids promo now online.
I might have a treat for all you ReBoot fans this weekend...or not. It depends.
Update from Tyler at 7:30pm: ...Wow. Not only did ReBoot impress, but it seems like I'll have to call myself a Sailor Moon fan again.
The Sailor Moon S movie promo is now online.

Miscellaneous whatnot n' stuff. Posted Friday, November 2, 2001, 11:44AM by TylerL
"...Take a look at this strange message on the Reactor website.
The wackos on the TDA messageboard have been working on trying to figure out the message since yesterday in this topic.
We'll figure out its meaning soon enough...

Also, if you're reading this sometime before 5pm e.s.t., you must watch Toonami today.
Not only is today the conclusion of ""Daemon Rising"", the ReBoot mini-series, it's also the premiere of Sailor Moon R. This movie was supposed to be on Toonami very early this year until the deal between Pioneer and CN fell through at the last minute. I'm gonna be parked in front of the TV for two hours straight today, and you should too.

Update from Tyler 10 minutes later: ALSO...TMR: Special Edition will be airing tonight again. Catch it if you didn't the first time...or just watch it again ^_^

I interrupted my dinner to upload this. You people owe me another hamburger. Posted Thursday, November 1, 2001, 6:57PM by TylerL
"The newer, longer 0080 promo is now online in its expected location.
Only TDA.

Warning: Incoming Donation Posted Thursday, November 1, 2001, 3:29PM by Zogg
"The 26th of October has come and gone, meaning that once again its time for me to get off my lazy butt and do some accounting. If you head over to the reports storage area, you can find the latest financial report for this month. Thanks to a lot of donations some early giving, you'll notice that our debt for this month is starting at a whoppingly small $8.73. You all rock.

Oh yeah, in case you're wondering why there's some blanks on all those public reports, its because we feel it would be best to respect the privacy of those who donate. (I also remove the financial tracking numbers, as no one really needs those buy me anyway.)

...anyone skilled in VCR repair? Posted Thursday, November 1, 2001, 12:05PM by TylerL
"Good news: The Gundam 0080 section is now online with yesterday's new promo and the Japanese Opening given to us by Pepito Minion ToonamiSource.
Bad news: My VCR decided NOT to tape ReBoot this morning, so I won't be able to get a good quality copy of the ReBoot opening for a few more weeks now.
Good news: My VCR received a good beating. I showed it who's boss...
Bad news: I still don't have the 1st ReBoot opening. Sigh.
