That's it for CNXToonami.com, CNX.ToonZone.net is next, only Toonami..." Posted Saturday, May 31, 2003, 3:50PM by KnuxFive
"(Well, it's not ""only Toonami"" anymore, but that phrase makes everything sound cool)

The remnants of CNX Toonami will be gone by June 10th, at the domain will go defunct. Jeff Harris' The Bridge was recently launched there, but you'll have to go to cnx.toonzone.net or toonzone.net/cnx starting June 10th until he figures out a new domain or something.

That's it for this post, something by Daikun is probably next, only Toonami. (See, I told you it makes anything sound cool)

No surprise, Viz will be adding Rurouni Kenshin to Shonen Jump, starting in November. It was rumored/hinted at before, and now it's really coming.

Toonami was proud to present a show about love, honor, sacrifice, revenge..." Posted Friday, May 30, 2003, 2:38PM by KnuxFive
"Just a reminder, today's episode of Mobile Fighter G Gundam will be the last aired on Toonami in a while. Justice League will be taking it's place next week for the rest of the summer, apparently. Don't worry, the show will still be on Saturday Video Entertainment System...

The show has had multiple runs on Toonami, and one run on the Midnight Run and Super Saturdays each... I believe. While a drastic change from the traditional Gundam series, it was either a love-it or hate-it show. I loved it, and I'll miss ""I'll do all I can to defeat you! Here I go!""...

Farewell, Shuffle Alliance.

"(If you're wondering what that's about... remember that Toonami Digital Arsenal is this site's sister site)

Now, everybody can stop calling the first Playstation by it's ""PSX"" moniker and go ahead and rightfully call it ""PSone"", as Sony's going to be releasing a ""PSX"".

Think of it as Sony's mega-multimedia Playstation 2. With all the capabilities of the current system (PSone, PS2, DVD, CD playback) with some new ones (DVD recording, USB 2.0, Memory Stick, Ethernet, TV Tuner, and a 120 gig hard drive). It will come out in Japan this year and America next year.

For the Toonami side of things, you could play Dragonnball Z: Ultimate Battle 22 (PSone), .hack//INFECTION (PS2), the Toonami: Deep Space Bass CD (Required if you watch the block), watch Toonami later than normal AND burn it to DVD, surf to Toonami Infolink, and... uhh... yeah.

Stretching the limits of what we cover... Posted Tuesday, May 27, 2003, 1:04PM by KnuxFive
"Yes, this is VERY loosely covered, but... admit it, most of you are gamers.

Starting June 23rd, Nintendo will release a friggin' great Gamecube package. You get a system, 1 free game or Gameboy Player, a Preview Disc, and a controller.

Included on the Preview Disc are demos of Sonic Adventure DX, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, Viewtiful Joe, and Soul Calibur 2, a GBA downloadable demo of Wario Ware, and a full on downloadable Dr. Mario for GBA. The free games include The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Toonami gave it 10 out of 10), Star Fox Advenutres, Metroid Prime, and Animal Crossing. With the Gameboy Player, you can play 1000s of GB games, including the Dragonball games.

It's just one option to play the Toonami games, but for $150... it's a great deal.

See ya later Gundam, Yu Yu Hakusho will be joining you off the block in a month.

"Well, as Knux reported just below ""Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Soldier"" is coming to Toonami. It will be replacing Yu Yu Hakusho on June 30th at 6.0. In other news Toonami veteran Big O will air on Adult Swim at midnight starting July 7th with new episodes starting Sunday August 3rd. You heard me... NEW.

"Well, we lose the Kryptonian, but gain a cyborg...

Thanks to Matt Wilson's sleuthing skills, we've got an idea of what's coming to Toonami in July.

Cyborg 009 is comin' to Toonami. No word if this cancels the Samurai Jack showing, but it seems like it might. The show seems to be based on 9 cyborg soldiers... like the name says, done, ironically, by the guy who did Metropolis.

"Batman... there hasn't been a good video game for the guy. Electronics Gaming Monthly put as the best feature for Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker as ""You can turn it off"". The last game based off the animated DCU wasn't liked, and the more recent game based off the comics was blasted.

A while ago, Ubi Soft announced Batman: The Rise of the Sin Tzu, the first Batman game to create a whole new villain. Naturally, oldies like Clayface and Bane will show up. The game will take a cooperative turn this time, with Nightwing, Robin, and Batgirl as possible partners.

Big O! It's RPG time! Posted Wednesday, May 21, 2003, 9:42PM by KnuxFive
"Maybe this WILL come out in America... have some Toonami cross promotion, this game COULD be big...

Sunrise Productions (Can anyone come up with a list of their shows), the producers of Gundam and Big O, will be releasing Sunrise World War, an RPG, in Japan in August for the Playstation 2. It has been stated that chracters from Big O would show up.

The average American gamer probably hasn't seen many crossovers. Think of this as a Smash Bros. RPG... tons of characters owned by one company interacting. Or as Super Robot Wars, just not focusing on Super Robots...

"The TDA Panel was held with astounding success yesterday, although it WAS an hour late.
Pictures will be online in a feature or rant sometime later this week.

According to CartoonNetwork.com schedulejunkies everywhere, Justice League will be airing on Toonami in June.
So...Justice League section online with the JL intro.
Updated by Tyler about 2 hours later: Nifty weekday JL promo also online now.

You knew they were gonna make it... Posted Friday, May 16, 2003, 5:04PM by KnuxFive
"Dragonball Z: Budokai 2 has been announced for the Playstation 2. Since a Gamecube release of Budokai 1 is planned for October, don't expect Budokai 2 to come out until early next year. A dual GCN/PS2 launch wouldn't be out the question. The game seems to be based on the Buu Saga.

Dragonball Z: Taiketsu has been announced for the Game Boy Advance, being the first GBA fighter. Naturally, it can be played on the GBA, GBAsp, or the Game Boy Player, which will be packaged with the Nintendo Gamecube for $150 later this year.

Transformers is still coming along, and while it seems to be based on the G1 movie, some sites are calling it Transformers Armada. Who knows... Naturally, it can be played on the current PS2 or the new PS2/Broadband pack.

"Sorry this is very late, but it all came up on short notice.

I, Tyler Loch, will be holding a TDA Panel at AnimeCentral on May 17th at 2pm.
The exact panel placement will be determined at 1:59pm that day, and will take place at my current location at the given time.
Feel free to ask me any questions or get your picture taken with the one and only Tyler L. of TDA fame if you're attending. Look for the guy with the red hair that needs a haircut.
It will be a panel you won't want to miss.
Update from Zogg 18 hours later: Ok... that right there is pretty sad. (Although if I was in Chicago I'd probably go. That's even sadder.)

"So, I'm kicking back with issue 123 of Sonic the Hedgehog today. Much like Sonic, I wonder why and how all the Robians were derobotisized, sans Sonic's dad.

Deciding to look at Ken Penders' web site for theories... I find out that Sonic X is going to Fox Box, not the obvious Saturday Video Entertainment System... which woulda been .5 steps away from Toonami.

Masters of the Universe or Defender of Greyskull? Posted Monday, May 12, 2003, 3:35PM by KnuxFive
"Which is a better name for the guys?

It's E3 time, therefore some new games are going to be announced. For the Nintendo Gamecube, Microsoft XBox, and Sony Playstation 2, He-Man: Defenders of Greyskull will be coming out. Prince Adam will tackle on 30-something stages in full 3D with either hand to hand combat or his sword. I wonder if that axe will ever come into play.

Also, to save posts... since we kinda mentioned it already... Dragonball Z: Budokai has been confirmed to come to the GCN this October.

New Kenshin on the horizen. Dance otaku... I SAID DANCE!!! Posted Friday, May 9, 2003, 11:31PM by Andromaton
"June 9th will bring us new episodes of Rurouni Kenshin. The episode ""The Strongest Opponent From the Past: Merciless Fangs Strike"" on that monday marks the beginning of the ""Kyoto Arc"". Many Kenshin fans agree that it is as the best and violentest part of the series that it is. They are also preparing for the new episodes by re-airing the Oniwaban Group story arc from May 27th to the 30th. These episodes have important elements that will come up during the Kyoto Arc.

"Well, we'll take a break from the G/Z/Hakusho/Kenshin lineup.... in July.

From July 28th to August 1st (One week), the wandering samurai replaces... the wandering samurai. Samurai Jack replaces Rurouni Kenshin for a week. I'm betting it's the current run of Saturday Video Entertainment System episodes. Hopefully it'd be longer than a week...

With He-Man's two week return, Samurai Jack's one week return... don't be surprised if Justice League or Transformers Armada showed up once/again later on.

"Cartoon Network has confirmed that it will air four episodes of Toonami veteran Superman: The Animated Series on Saturday, July 5, leading up to the premiere of Justice League's ""Twilight"". The three-hour consists of Apokolips ... Now!, Legacy, with Twilight as the finale. The block will air as ""Justice For All"" beginning at 8:00pm (ET/PT).

The Superman episodes are of Superman's main battles with Darkseid. In Twilight (which airs at 10:00pm), Darkseid comes to Superman and the Justice League for help in defending Apokolips from a powerful foe. The episode is filled, as usual when it comes to Darkseid, with twists and double-crosses and builds up to the ultimate showdown between Superman and Darkseid. Twilight is the first episode of Justice League's second season the rest of the new episodes will begin in October.

As always, thanks a lot for your support in keeping the site alive!
