Clone Wars Marathon Draws Top Tween Delivery for Cartoon Network Posted Tuesday, May 17, 2005, 11:30PM by Nobuyuki
"One week prior to the highly anticipated opening of the new Star Wars feature film, Cartoon Network’s Emmy Award-winning Star Wars: Clone Wars earned the network’s top tweens 9-14 delivery of the week across its three-hour marathon on Saturday (7-10 p.m.), according to Nielsen Media Research. The marathon presentation also tied the tweens 9-14 delivery and ratings of a brand new episode of Codename: Kids Next Door (Friday, 6:30 p.m.), which kicks off Cartoon Network’s signature FRIDAYS franchise (6:30 p.m. – 12 a.m.). Highlights of the Star Wars: Clone Wars marathon, Cartoon Network weekly performance and FRIDAYS’ gains vs. the same time period last year follow the break...

FUNimation Acqures Slayers Posted Saturday, May 14, 2005, 7:04PM by TylerL
"Yes, that Slayers.

FUNimation announced at Anime Central that they have acquired the rights to Slayers/Next/Try in order to ""maintain"" the popular brand, as the former licensor's deal has expired.
Along with cleaning up the video and audio, they will be partially redubbing the existing release of the series to fix some lines or replace entire character VAs in some cases.
A new logo will be introduced for the relaunch of the series which will be in Fall or early '06.

No word yet on Slayers making it to Cartoon Network. FoxKids had the TV rights originally, but it seems that FUNimation now has that option.

Always late with this too... Posted Thursday, May 12, 2005, 1:05PM by TylerL
"I'll be at AnimeCentral this weekend with my girlfriend (not really an anime fan) who will be studying the strange behavior of those in the anime fandom.

If you happen to see me at the convention, come say ""hi"", and I might have some (unlabeled uncased) TDA DVDs to hand out.

We're planning on having an ACen rant done sometime, so look for that in a few weeks.

Update from Zogg: In case you're wondering how you'll recognize Tyler when you see him, he'll be the one with the girlfriend.

Williams Street Feature on G4 Posted Monday, May 9, 2005, 1:23PM by TylerL
"G4's Attack of the Show aired a 4-part feature of their tour of Williams Street focusing on the Adult Swim creative staff.

It's available online here: http://www.g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/videos/index.html

Thanks to Wesley S for the heads-up.

Either the nerds waiting in line haven't heard of Fandango, or they're really really opposed to the $1 service fee." Posted Sunday, May 8, 2005, 11:15PM by TylerL
