''That's it for Shaman King, Detective Conan is next... only Toonami''" Posted Tuesday, July 29, 2003, 11:28AM by KnuxFive
"Yeah, well...

It ain't our Toonami. Spain seems to be on the right track, as they're gaining Transformers Armada and X-Men: Evolution for their new afternoon Toonami block, while those two shows join Detective Conan, Batman Beyond, and Shaman King on a Super Saturdays-esque block, ""Toonami XXL"".

America, look at Spain. Some shows that have been on Toonami, some that are rumored for it... along with a weekend block. Rename SVES to Toonami XXL... and it's all good.

Alias this Wavefront Posted Monday, July 28, 2003, 1:52AM by andromaton
"Well, I just got back from the kicking Siggraph Alias|Wavefront Maya party and thought I would toss this out to all my homies. Even though it would have seemed that Toonami was all but forgotten on TV it sure hasn't been by A|W. During a montage of work done in Maya Toonami sequences were shown more times than anything else. TDA has all the Toonami sequences that were shown available for download.

The Newest Green Lantern? That's Dithpicable! Posted Tuesday, July 22, 2003, 9:24PM by KnuxFive
"In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight! For those who worship evil's might, beware my power... Green Lantern's light!

That's the Green Lantern motto... and the next person to wield the ring?

Duck Dodgers, hero of the 24th and a half century, will become the Green Lantern for our sector of galaxy. Meeting up with Hal Jordan (Voiced by Kevin Smith), Dodgers will be the most recent of animated GLs (You've seen Kyle Rayner and Jon Stewart already on Toonami). Duck Dodgers premieres this fall, not Toonami.

The Greatest Batman Film Ever? Posted Tuesday, July 22, 2003, 7:42PM by KnuxFive

Batman: Dead End is the new fan-favorite fan film. In it, Batman faces off against the Joker and... actually... if you watch it, don't tell anyone the twists and turns.

"At the limits of what we cover, but...

The Transformers: The Movie is currently available as a single disc ""Special Edition"" which... to be blunt, sucks. A two-disc special edition might be on the books for 2004, the 20th Anniversary of the film.

Please... let it be ""Special""... much like this post turned out to be. Infolink's 500th news story. Yay.

- Pioneer has no plans to bring over Sailor Stars.

"Rhino Home Video, the people who have been releasing Transformers G1 Season box sets and will be releasing Beast Wars: Transformers later, has acquired the DVD license to Transformers Armada.

It'll probably be released in two box sets (Part 1 and Part 2, since it's really just one long season), and with it's unique international nature, I wouldn't be suprised if they threw the Japanese language track on there, if not the Japanese bumpers, intros. Alright... thanks to Nemalki talking some sense into me, I've reworked the Related Schedule. Hamtaro was a blemish that we should recognize in history notes... but not on schedules. Pokémon has never actually aired on CN's Toonami. The Powerpuff Girls, while a proud part of the block's history... is on WAY too much. You watch it for a month, you'll see all the episodes. Yes, this truncates some of the shows on Fauxnami... therefore the schedule will not list it by name, just as a bunch of shows on Saturday. New stuff coming down the pike? Posted Friday, July 11, 2003, 10:39PM by KnuxFive
"...what exactly IS a ""pike""?

Anyways... here's the list of recent acquisitions.

FUNimation- Detective Conan. This'd probably go to Toonami if it came to TV.

Bandai- .hack//DUSK, Dragon Drive, Galaxy Angel, Gundam F91, Taruto, Stratos 4, Tenshi no Shippo, Zeta Gundam, Yukikaze, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Along Complex, Wolf's Rain, and two brand new episodes of .hack//SIGN. Some of these could easily fit Toonami, some are far crys. But, who knows.

Pioneer- Texhnolyze, Gungrave, Samurai Champloo, and Read or Die. Same with Bandai, some is very possible, some is very unlikely.

- What would Toonami be without a yearly Gundam series?

- Awhile back word had it that there would be a Toonami panel this year, but it doesn't seem to be on the list.

Top Toonami Ratings - May 2003 Posted Wednesday, July 9, 2003, 9:27PM by Meteo
"The Top 111 Cartoon Network Telecasts for May are out and 2 out of the 4 Toonami shows made it on the list. For the first time that I have seen Dragonball Z did not make the list. While G Gundam didn't make it on a Toonami airing, it did make the list through it's SVES run. Thus, the show's Toonami ratings were probably at least decent. Yu Yu Hakusho was Toonami's big show while Rurouni Kenshin also pulled in great ratings. In fact Kenshin's ratings were higher than the previous month. Overall it was a good month for CN, the lowest # in the Top 111 is an 1.8. For the complete list of top rated Toonami shows click ""Read More""

Remember, with 31 days in May, 24 hours in a day and considering that most CN telecasts are 1/2 an hour long, there were possibly over 1,300 telecasts in May. Thus, the list only covers shows that placed in about the Top 8% or so.

Here are the Toonami shows that made the list (thanks to livingfruitvirus for the list):

USA Today, voice of the nation?" Posted Wednesday, July 9, 2003, 1:50PM by andromaton
"USA Today joins the host of media voices predicting the imminent death of the traditional animated feature. The market of traditional animation is faultering Stateside. Spirited Away did quite miserably, as did Knocking on Heavens Door. USA Todays article gives blame for Sinbad's failure at the box office for the ""archaic"" look of traditional cel animation and a ""horrible"" marketing campaign.

Archaic look of traditional animation? That statement alone outraged me. I would like to here your comments. You the people of the Infolink.

Toonami Channel in the UK this September! Posted Thursday, July 3, 2003, 11:31AM by TylerL
"Say goodbye to CNX, hello to Toonami!

From Sky Digi Online: CNX, the Turner channel dedicated to Anime and edgy films, is to be closed in September. The channel will be replaced by 'Toonami', which will be aimed at a young teen audience with cartoons such as X Men. Turner have defended their decision to drop CNX, stating that the adult market is ""crowded and competitive"".
