Bruce Timm; the name is now a book! Posted Thursday, July 29, 2004, 2:24PM by Andromaton
"Arriving just in time for the premiere of Justice League Unlimited on Cartoon Network, Modern Masters Volume Three: Bruce Timm hits bookstores with what will surely be the definitive portrait of the artist and producer behind the shows that revolutionized superhero animation: Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, and Justice League. Although the book is not pitched as a companion or sequel to Batman: Animated, admirers of that book could not do better than to pick up this new volume.

G.I. Joe salutes at half staff today. Posted Thursday, July 29, 2004, 2:03PM by Andromaton
"Jackson Beck, ""a master of voice-over"", has died at the age of 92. Beck introduced each episode of the Superman radio show with the now famous phrase ""It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!"" and voiced Bluto in more than 300 Popeye cartoons. He went on to work in The Batman/Superman Hour and The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure during the 1960's and was the narrator for the G.I. Joe series in the 1980's.

My favorite Jackson Beck performance is that of the suburbanite who brings home a man-eating cannibal from a jungle expedition in Famous Studio's 1958 cartoon CHEW CHEW BABY. He narrates the entire cartoon as good 'ol boy who shows ""Chew Chew"" all around Cincinnatti, blissfully unaware that the cannibal is eating all his friends around him. I also enjoyed Beck's many roles on the Superman radio show - from narrator, to gangsters to office boy ""Beanie"", Beck was the true star of that show.

I met him once, in his apartment, where he threw a party for Sid Raymond (this was in 1995). Because we shared last names we discussed the possibility of being related, but I was happy just to meet the man and tell him how much I enjoyed his work. He was a gentleman and a wonderful guy.

Duel Masters renewed for 52 more episodes! Posted Saturday, July 24, 2004, 7:02AM by TylerL
"According to ICv2, two more seasons of Duel Masters have been greenlighted for the US.

It seems that the second season's episodes (currently airing in Japan) will be skipped over at first, and the third season (in production) will be the next to be dubbed..

Comic-Con News Posted Friday, July 23, 2004, 10:17PM by TylerL

"The votes have been counted.
The next major TDA announcement is...
A Miguzi Subsite!
Check the navbar. 17 Miguzi promos, intros, bumpers, etc from each show collected for your Miguzi downloading purposes.
It's not a full-fledged site, and for now, it's only available on the side navbar. Don't expect me to update this as regularly as the rest of the site, but for those of you wanting a ""Miguzi Digital Arsenal"", that's probably the closest you'll get.
Enjoy!

Dini talks about new Batman/Superman Boxsets Posted Wednesday, July 21, 2004, 2:14PM by Andromaton
"Paul Dini posted ""Even though I have departed Termite Tower for the House of Mouse, I still get yanked back for the occasional special project. Just this week I did a bunch of new interviews and commentaries for the second BATMAN ANIMATED DVD set, due out later this year. Bruce Timm, Alan Burnett, Glen Murakami, the SUPERMAN directors and I will also appear on a SUPERMAN ANIMATED compilation released around that time, too. Bruce and Glen reveal the stylistic differences between the BATMAN and SUPERMAN series while Alan talks about the challenges of writing a fresh yet iconic version of the Man of Steel, and I shriek out the name “Mxyzptlk!†now and then just to be annoying. For reasons unknown, I also pop up on the WACKY RACES DVD boxed set, again out later this fall. Gotta love that Dastardly and Muttley.""

So by the end of this year we can expect to see Season 2 set of Batman and Season 1 of Superman. I say to thee ""yay"".

Click read more for a lil tidbit about JLUSource: JingleBelle.com

Between SUPERMAN commentary sessions, Bruce and Justice League director Dan Riba told me that the last JLU episode I scripted was back from animation and looking great. I’m not sure exactly when it will be airing, though it was number five or six on the production slate this season, so I’m guessing around the end of August. Batman and Zatanna literally travel to Hell and back to save Wonder Woman from Circe. Special guest appearance by B’wana Beast. No seriously, B’wana Beast!

It's in the Newest Downloads bar until I make a real JLU section for it (and the Toonami preview from Starcrossed).

I've also added the original Japanese Dragonball GT First and Second endings.
The DBGT intro entry has also been updated with the song/artist information.

And actually, the total is closer to 1,100 if you count all the non-database files (TIEs and other features).

Now, you can download it (well, something like it), shut up and be happy.
Toonami fan and private-citizen Subatomic has put together an unofficial imitation of the new Toonami font.
He calls it Tsoonami.
Here's a quick sample:

It's supposed to be misspelled, fool. It's funny. I bet you're not laughing though. ^^^

"According to Toonami Infolink, Teen Titans will start airing on Toonami THIS weekend (earlier than expected).
Teen Titans section created, populated.
The Teen Titans intro is a little special too.
When you open the movie, you'll have your choice of language (English/Japanese). Make your choice and the movie will start playing. You can also skip back and forth between the two audio tracks as much as you like.
This is leaps-and-bounds better than the double audio track stuff I did before. I'd like to change all dual-language clips to this format.

Teen Titans Defeat Astro Boy, Details at 8.0 on Saturday" Posted Thursday, July 1, 2004, 6:56AM by meteo
"In yet another story from the ever changing world of Cartoon Network schedules, Toonami is adding Teen Titans a little earlier than expected. Effectively immediately, Astro Boy has been kicked off the Absolution. Considering the series dismal performance on Kids WB and reportedly low ratings during the March Toonami run, low numbers are the likely culprit this time as well.

Teen Titans will start off towards the end of the episodes that premiered last winter on Cartoon Network, thus leading into new episodes starting July 31st.
