For more information click ""Read More""

Toonami: Monday - Thursday

All Times Eastern

5.0 PM - SD Gundam
5.5 PM - Samurai Jack

(Watch Samurai Jack - it's good!)

FUNimation, Nelvana, team up to form..." Posted Friday, September 26, 2003, 8:44PM by KnuxFive
"Well, they're not really forming anything, other than a deal...

FUNimation, dubbers of Toonami's own Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Yu-Yu Hakusho, and Nelvana, dubbers of Toonami's own... uh... Cardcaptors... have teamed up. FUNimation has acquired the rights to 44 back-catalog Nelvana titles and has the oppurtunity to co-produce with them.

With FUNimation releasing 4Kids titles on home video, and FUNimation being so closely connected to Cartoon Network... things are looking good.

Starting October 1st, Geneon Entertainment will be the name of the newly-acquired-by-Dentsu-Inc. company. Who knows what else will change.

SD Gundam kickin' ratings butt... Posted Saturday, September 20, 2003, 11:38AM by KnuxFive
"Yeah, yeah, we've been slack on news. My bad.

SD Gundam has, like the title said, been kicking butt in ratings. It's had a 29% growth in ratings from what aired last year at the same time (Batman Beyond? G Gundam?). This show has definitely been getting it's target audience (Unlike Rurouni Kenshin...).

IGPX is airing starting Monday. I suggest, nay, demand that you watch it. If it gets good ratings, there's a good chance it'll be made into a series.
I'm not sure if I'll be putting IGPX on TDA just yet. We'll see what Toonami.com does with it first. Just watch it on TV and buy stuff from the advertisers for now...

Jack Tripper dies; Knux even sadder Posted Saturday, September 13, 2003, 12:45AM by KnuxFive
"Really stretching the boundaries, but...

John Ritter, infamous for playing Jack Tripper on Three's Company (And most recently the dad on 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter) has passed away from heart complications.

The man was a slapstick legend, and even lent his voice to an episode of Batman Beyond. I personally enjoyed countless Three's Company episodes over the summer on pre-Spike TV.

Sept. 8th, The Day That Will Live In Infamy Is Here, And We Have A Schedule" Posted Monday, September 8, 2003, 3:01AM by Meteo
"The world's first Toonami network launches today, as Daikun pointed out below, and we now have a schedule for it. As I don't dare retype the monstrosity here, check out the following link if you are interested:

UK Toonami Network Schedule

Click ""Read More"" for some commentary.

If this is what qualifies as a network, there wouldn't be any problem scheduling a Toonami network in America. While two more shows are coming (Dragonball and Teen Titans) 24 hours of programming is currently occupied by 13 shows. American Cartoon Network currently has the rights to well over twice that many Toonami worthy shows.

A New Bat-Feature... Posted Wednesday, September 3, 2003, 9:49AM by KnuxFive
"Assuming that this one actually gets off the ground...

A new Batman feature film (Live-action) by filmmaker Christopher Nolan (Memento, Insomnia) will begin filiming in February... assuming they get someone for the titular role of Bruce Wayne.

Current candidates include Christian Bale, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joshua Jackson, Hugh Dancy, Cillian Murphy, Henry Cavill, and Eion Bailey.

The Batman films post-Schumaker have been in production heck, so don't be surprised if this never gets off the ground.

Transformers: Energon Synospis? (RUMOR) Posted Monday, September 1, 2003, 9:28PM by KnuxFive
"Take this with a packet of salt, if you can handle msg.

Transformers Energon will be coming to Toonami next year. We know that. It's also been widely acknowledged that it is a sequel to Armada, set ten years in the future, with Rad and Alexis shacking up (Well, ignore the last part).

Here's where the rumors begin. The Decepticons form an alliance with Unicron (Who will be a big part at the end of Armada), becoming more powerful. The Autobots on the other hand are running out of energy; they must conserve and combine whatever fuel they have left. New factions of Autobots, Omnicons, and Decepticons, Terrorcons, show up, designed to handle Energon, with the ability to make weapons from it.
